Manager, Accounting
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing the daily operations of the accounting team assigned to prepare and review the financial statements and maintain the general ledgers. Assist and advise on all matters relative to financial operations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Manage the preparation, review and close of assigned financial statements including journal entries, balance sheet reviews, account reconciliations and analysis by the assigned team in a timely manner
Effectively manage and evaluate the staff assigned to their group. Identify actions that need to occur and make recommendations to the leadership on staffing (e.g., job assignments, hiring, terminations, and transfers)
Timely complete functional workloads as assigned (Revenue, Programming/PPV, Capital Expenditures, Corporate consolidation, Bank reconciliations, M&A, Charter Business, E-Rate, accrual support, audit support)
Communicate with personnel on accounting related issues involving their area of responsibility and the applicable staff
Complete special projects and work with other team members as needed
Complete all SOX work timely with signoffs and documentation. Communicate issues as needed to staff and management
Monitor and insure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, local, state, federal laws
May support budgeting and forecasting activities
Perform other duties as required

Ability to use 10-key adding machine
Strong computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
Knowledge of Accounting theory and procedures
Knowledge of JD Edwards general ledger software
Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
Related Work Experience Number Of Years
General ledger Accounting work experience 5-7
Supervisory experience 1-3
Industry related Accounting work experience preferred
