What You Will Do and How You Will Grow

The Finance Associate role based in the Bogotá, Colombia office, provides finance support across the Americas region, with the majority of day-to-day work focused on supporting the USA entity. The role processes accounts payable, records general ledger transactions, and assists with reconciliations and month-end close tasks. The role also prepares intercompany invoices for hosted staff across the region. This role is not responsible for client invoicing. The position builds foundational accounting experience while supporting the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of regional finance operations. 


Finance Associate - Specific Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management

  • Process USA accounts payable invoices and support regional vendor management, including statement reconciliations, vendor records, and corporate credit card transactions.

Intercompany Invoicing

  • Prepare intercompany invoices for hosted staff, track cost allocations, and ensure accurate coding across entities. Collaborate with Finance leadership to resolve discrepancies. This role does not include client invoicing.

General Ledger & Month-End Close

  • Record assigned transactions, support month-end close activities, and assist with bank and balance sheet reconciliations under the guidance of the Finance Manager or Senior Accountant.

Expenses & Compliance

  • Review employee expenses for compliance with internal policies and local tax regulations, support process improvements, and identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls.

Reporting & Finance Support

  • Prepare financial reports from Deltek/ERP systems, support business development documentation requests, and provide coverage for regional finance activities as needed.

Stakeholder Support

  • Serve as a responsive point of contact for finance-related questions from regional stakeholders and support additional finance requests as needed.

You are expected to live near our office and work 2-3 days/month from the office.


Employment in Dalberg’s Bogotá office is contingent on the candidate having the requisite authorization to live and work in Colombia as well as possessing fluency in English and Spanish.

Salary: The monthly compensation for this role is COP $6,250,000.00 . Our salary structure is designed to be in line with that of non-profit and social impact organizations, reflecting our dedication to social impact work. This is distinct from management consultancies, which predominantly cater to commercial clients.

Requirements

Typical qualifications for a Finance Associate:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
  • Complete or part accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA (preferred)
  • 1-2 years of work experience in financial accounting or accounts payable, ideally in a professional services or multinational environment.
  • Strong expertise in IFRS or US GAAP
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) 
  • Proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under time constraints and produce accurate results
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Team-oriented, motivated to learn, and adaptable to varied assignments
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting across time zones (Eastern or Pacific) 
  • Self-starter with an aptitude for learning new systems, tools, and technology

Skills Required
