Role Overview

We are seeking a highly capable Executive Business Manager – Africa Operations to serve as the senior in-region leadership representative across Ghana and Nigeria. This role is responsible for driving business execution, operational excellence, team leadership, and regional growth alignment with U.S.-based leadership.

The role functions as a key bridge between global leadership and Africa-based teams, ensuring strong execution, accountability, and performance across offshore delivery and regional business activities.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong judgment, independence, and the ability to deliver results with minimal oversight.

 

Key Responsibilities

Regional Leadership & Representation

Serve as the senior on-the-ground representative of the organization in Africa operations.

Act as the primary liaison between U.S. leadership and Africa-based teams.

Build credibility, alignment, and accountability across regional teams and stakeholders.

Represent the company in regional meetings, partner discussions, and business engagements.

 

Business Growth & Market Support

Support regional growth initiatives aligned with global business objectives.

Identify and support development of strategic partnerships across Ghana, Nigeria, and the wider region.

Build relationships with local firms, institutions, and ecosystem stakeholders.

Provide market insights, competitive intelligence, and on-the-ground feedback to U.S. leadership.

Support identification and coordination of relevant opportunities, including donor-funded and enterprise engagements where applicable.

 

Offshore Team Leadership & Delivery Oversight

Lead, manage, and support offshore teams delivering services to U.S. operations.

Ensure consistent execution of deliverables, timelines, and quality standards.

Establish and maintain KPIs, performance tracking, and accountability frameworks.

Drive operational discipline and service excellence across distributed teams.

 

People Leadership & Talent Development

Support hiring, onboarding, and development of regional team members.

Build a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative team culture.

Drive engagement, retention, and continuous improvement within the regional workforce.

Identify skill gaps and support workforce planning in partnership with leadership.

 

Operational Excellence

Oversee day-to-day regional operations and ensure alignment with global processes.

Improve workflows, delivery models, and operational efficiency across teams.

Identify risks early and resolve execution issues proactively.

Ensure smooth coordination between regional teams and U.S. stakeholders.

 

Cross-Functional Coordination

Coordinate with U.S. leadership teams to prioritize work and allocate resources effectively.

Support execution across business operations, shared services, and delivery functions.

Ensure timely reporting, communication, and operational updates.

 

Governance, Compliance & Execution Discipline

Ensure adherence to company policies, operational standards, and local regulations.

Exercise strong judgment in decision-making, escalation, and risk management.

Maintain transparency, accountability, and execution discipline across all activities.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Operations, or related field (MBA preferred).

8+ years of experience in business operations, regional management, consulting, or leadership roles.

Proven experience managing distributed or offshore teams supporting international operations.

Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive performance.

Experience working in fast-paced, execution-driven environments.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level interaction.

Ability to operate independently and take ownership of outcomes.

High level of professionalism, judgment, and accountability.
