NON - EXEMPT JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I

DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING

REPORTS TO: ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR

SALARY GRADE: 1NE REVISION DATE: 8/03

JOB FUNCTION:

Executes the assigned duties as necessary to support technical issues as required to resolve product or process problems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist engineer in day-to-day activities. Included but not limited to:

  • Program planning and scheduling.
  • Special lot generation, tracking, and documentation.
  • Development of parts procedures (PESs) and routings.
  • Provide technical support for Quality and Manufacturing.
  • Learn the fundamentals of tooling, gating designing and efficiency, shell systems, foundry parameters, metallurgy, blueprint reading and interpretation, and statistical analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of evaluations and reports to management and customers.
  • Assist in the cost reduction activities, and process improvements.

EDUCATION:

High school education required. Prefer 2 years of technical education in an engineering-related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Entry level - 2+ years experience in engineering or technical environment.

SUPERVISION:

Moderate supervision received. No supervisory responsibility.
