The Senior Network Engineer will be primarily responsible for the maintenance and support efforts of the naviHealth network. This includes campus, datacenter, and cloud networks. The Senior Network Engineer will support efforts in the entire network stack - from WAN, firewalls, routing, switching, and hosts. The role is primarily support oriented; however, some project-based work will be required on an ad-hoc basis. This role will work closely with various departments within the naviHealth organization to ensure internal SLAs are met with a high degree of user satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support existing firewall infrastructure, route/switch infrastructure, and wireless infrastructure
  • Support and implement client (B2B) tunnels including working directly with clients
  • Support and manage circuit vendors
  • Assist in the design and support of network related components including IP address schemes, DNS, security, AD, Group Policy, etc.
  • Identify infrastructure and security issues and develop plans to fix or report to the relevant teams
  • Interpret and enforce security policies and procedures
  • Participate in security compliance efforts (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.)
  • Evaluate and recommend new and emerging network products and technologies
  • Participate in incident handling
  • Support existing AAA infrastructure
  • Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives and timelines
  • Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors, to provide technical assistance and support
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of route/switch experience, preferably with Cisco (Nexus, Catalyst) or Juniper (EX-Series) devices
  • 4+ years of Firewall management experience, specifically with Cisco ASAs and Palo Alto devices
  • Experience with log monitoring and analysis, using tools such as Elasticsearch, Splunk, or LogInsight
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team made up of other infrastructure engineers
  • Experience in public cloud platforms - AWS, Azure, GC
  • Solid NAT and IPSEC experience
  • Knowledge of VoIP implementation and support
  • Ability to write and/or modify simple scripts, using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.
  • Work extended or off-hours, when necessary, in order to address unforeseen issues and/or to see a project or task to completion
  • Occasional travel required as needed to remote offices and datacenters

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year associates or higher degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or similar discipline
  • 4+ years of wireless experience, Aerohive experience
  • Experience with Aruba Clearpass
  • Experience with F5 Load Balancers
  • Solid technical, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal
