Your Role and Responsibilities

You will work as a key member of the development teams, interacting with the performance team, other software developers, architects, information developers and network engineers. As part of this focused team, you will apply your skills in Java, Ruby, Python, and other programming languages to write programs that test and stress IBM Z offerings to ensure they can stand up to the abuse they get from customers. You will use your passion for correctness to verify that the software behaves for the users who will someday need to use it to get things done. You will design tests to ensure the new stuff that your team has built this year does not interfere with what the team built last year. Because of your tenacity and attention to detail, customers will be confident their software will keep working the way it should.

Job Duties:

The primary role of an enterprise software tester is to both validate and break software yielding high quality solutions that can offer up to 99.99999% uptime for our clients. Not only does one need to test new functionality for correctness but also for other enterprise software facets such as usability, security, load/stress impacts, recoverability, and performance. Key responsibilities include:

About the Team
As a software test member of the agile test team, you would participate in designing, developing, executing, and evaluating solutions and features progressing through the software development life cycle. When defects or anomalies are discovered, the test team captures the data to describe the state of the system, environment, and application in defect records. Once defects are created, testers further assist with documentation collection and analysis, monitor the record for updates, then installing and verifying fixes. Responsibilities of this tester role also includes the maintenance and administration of the test environment and system that is up and running continuously. This includes installing updates, configuring system resources, installing solution exploiters, and monitoring the systems. In addition to starting, stopping, and monitoring applications and workloads that exploit solutions, the team also helps develop and maintains the workloads.
