About the Team
As a Sr. Application Developer within VIZIO's Information Technology team, this individual plays a critical role maintaining and developing Salesforce applications using modern web development tools and techniques. In doing so, this individual will collaborate closely with team members from the VIZIO Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support business units. In summary this position: Analyzes business requirements/processes and system integration considerations to determine appropriate technology solutions; Designs, codes, tests, and documents solutions based on system and user requirements.
What You Will Do

  • Analyze requirements to determine appropriate solution designs considering capabilities, limitations, and design trade-offs
  • Responsible for preparing design documentation.
  • Identify appropriate third-party products/applications to meet business requirements
  • Designs, configures, codes, tests, debugs and documents Salesforce solutions, leveraging Apex, Visualforce and Lighting Components, according to VIZIO's systems standards, policies and procedures.
  • Prepares flow charts and systems diagrams to assist in problem analysis.
  • Work with Business System Solution Architect to ensure the quality and integrity of Salesforce data
  • Create and maintain documentation of application integrations and all custom development.
  • Document user acceptance tests to ensure the quality of developed solutions prior to production deployment (includes creating test plans)
  • Prepares test data for unit, string and parallel testing.
  • Learns new applications, VIZIO-specific technologies, system behavior and business processes as they relate to customer needs.
  • Communicates with all stakeholders (customers, development teams, end users, etc.) to address system issues.
  • Resolves customer issues with software solutions and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Manages, resolves and documents issues and events related to system and environment availability.
  • Monitors and measures performance characteristics of applications.
  • Performs routine maintenance.
  • Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
  • Assists in orientation, training, work assignment and checking of less experienced developers.
  • Serves as technical consultant to leaders in the IT organization and functional user groups.
  • Work with consultants and/or offshore resources in support of Salesforce development work
  • Imparts technical expertise to less experienced developers.
  • Plans, conducts and leads assignments generally involving moderate, high budget projects or more than one project.
  • Assists in creating the strategic technical and architectural direction to the programming function.
  • Manages user expectations regarding appropriate milestones and deadlines.


About You

  • Undergraduate degree Computer Science or similar and 4 years relevant experience; or Graduate degree Computer Science or similar and 2 years relevant experience.
  • 2+ years Salesforce development experience in Sales Cloud and Service Cloud environments; Marketing Cloud experience a plus
  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying custom developed solutions on the Salesforce platform with integrations to external systems
  • Current Platform Developer I or Platform Developer II certification desired
  • Experience using integrated development environments (IDE), Developer Console as well as declarative development
  • Experience managing deployment and understanding deployment best practices
  • Experience writing code which integrates directly with webservices (SOAP/REST)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL, .NET and Java a plus
  • Background in SDLC/Agile development a plus
  • Familiar with software development lifecycle methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional team environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and complex problem-solving capabilities
  • Completion of Developer Intermediate trail on Trailhead.com; Developer Advanced trail progress a plus
  • Ideal candidate will be able to provide URL to current Trailhead profile
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Familiarity with business systems process knowledge within the consumer goods and distribution industries, including Marketing, Sales Management (including Opportunity Management, Forecasting Quote to Cash) & Customer Support.

For California and New York-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $102,000/year. The maximum salary for this position $ 132,000 / year. The compensation package includes the annual bonus in addition to a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
