TITLE: Network Engineer III
LOCATION: Greenwood Village, CO
JOB SUMMARY: Provide support for Charter Communications' datacenters, including network troubleshooting, implementing network enhancements, and recommending network improvements to improve network resiliency. Develop Method of Procedures (MOPs) to implement network enhancements for various Charter Verticals. Troubleshoot network outages impacting Charter Communications services for both internal and external customers. Utilize network monitoring and performance tools to evaluate issues that may impact customer services. Assist the Operational Engineering (OE) group in developing deployment standards and ensuring standards are implemented across the organization. Troubleshoot complex issues, support MOP development, and recommend and implement networking best practices for equipment maintenance. Review current datacenter architecture and make recommendations to OE group for network performance improvements. Serve as an escalation point for junior engineers within the datacenter, including troubleshooting and MOP development. Approve MOPs (Methods of Procedure) and CRQs (Change Requests) for the Datacenter team. Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching network protocols which must include BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and Spanning Tree. Troubleshoot and configure networking technologies specifically LACP, HSRP, IPv4/IPv6, TCP/IP, VLANS, and SNMP. Perform network troubleshooting and configuration utilizing either ASA or SRX Firewalls. Troubleshoot and configure various network switches and routers using Cisco IOS and IOSXR. Utilize Cisco, Juniper, and Arista router/switch/security technologies for configuration and troubleshooting. Perform weekly on-call support for the Datacenter on a rotating basis, typically once every 8-10 weeks. Perform night work to implement network changes which typically lasts between 1-8 hours, up to 3 times per week depending on customer demands.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 2 years of experience: configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching network protocols which must include BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and Spanning Tree; troubleshooting and configuring networking technologies specifically LACP, HSRP, IPv4/IPv6, TCP/IP, VLANS, and SNMP; network troubleshooting and configuration utilizing either ASA or SRX Firewalls; troubleshooting and configuring various network switches and routers using Cisco IOS and IOSXR; and Cisco, Juniper, or Arista router/switch/security technologies for configuration and troubleshooting. The pay for this position has a minimum of $86,902.00. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
