Analog Devices is seeking a Reliability Hardware Engineer to join the Reliability Hardware & Systems Development team in Wilmington, MA. This position supports the development, validation, and maintenance of reliability stress hardware and systems used to qualify semiconductor products. The successful candidate will work closely with reliability engineers, technicians, product teams, and experienced hardware developers to support reliability testing activities and help deliver robust hardware solutions across a broad range of technologies and products.
The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer with a strong electrical engineering foundation, hands-on laboratory skills, and a desire to develop expertise in reliability hardware, semiconductor qualification, and test system development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, validation, and maintenance of reliability stress hardware including Burn-In boards (BIBs), HAST boards, HTOL hardware, test fixtures, and related support systems.
- Assist in the development and debugging of hardware used for reliability qualification and engineering evaluation activities.
- Work with reliability engineers and product teams to understand project requirements and support the implementation of hardware solutions.
- Perform board-level and system-level validation activities to ensure hardware readiness for qualification testing.
- Support technicians during hardware bring-up, qualification execution, and troubleshooting activities.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system-level issues associated with reliability hardware and laboratory equipment.
- Participate in failure investigations and root-cause analysis activities.
- Work with PCB, socket, and component suppliers to support hardware development and issue resolution.
- Document hardware designs, validation results, troubleshooting activities, and engineering recommendations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on hardware quality, reliability, efficiency, and laboratory productivity.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
- 0-3 years of experience in hardware engineering, test engineering, reliability engineering, product engineering, internships, co-op assignments, or related technical disciplines.
- Fundamental understanding of electronic circuits and hardware development.
- Familiarity with schematic capture, PCB design concepts, and electronic debugging techniques.
- Hands-on experience using common laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters, and signal generators.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).
- Internship, co-op, academic project, or industry experience involving electronic hardware design, validation, or test development.
- Familiarity with PCB design tools and printed circuit board development processes.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor devices and semiconductor manufacturing concepts.
- Exposure to reliability stress testing methodologies such as Burn-In, HTOL, HAST, HTOB, or related qualification testing.
- Familiarity with electronic failure analysis and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with environmental chambers, automated test equipment, or laboratory automation.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working with fixtures, sockets, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Interest in semiconductor reliability and qualification engineering.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $75,200 to $103,400.
