SUMMARY
The Electrical Systems Engineer II supports the design, integration, analysis, and modification of aircraft electrical systems for commercial and/or military aviation programs. This position is responsible for developing electrical system designs, creating engineering documentation, and supporting aircraft modification efforts involving AC/DC power distribution, data buses, and audio systems. The ideal candidate has previous aviation industry experience and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and production teams to deliver compliant, reliable electrical solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Design and analyze aircraft electrical systems for new installations and modification programs.
- Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and supporting engineering documentation.
- Design and support AC/DC power distribution systems, electrical protection, and system integration.
- Design and analyze aircraft data bus architectures and communication systems.
- Support the design, integration, and troubleshooting of aircraft audio and communication systems.
- Perform electrical load analyses, wire sizing calculations, and system verification activities.
- Support aircraft modification, retrofit, repair, and certification projects.
- Coordinate with Structural Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to ensure successful project execution.
- Review engineering changes and implement design revisions while maintaining configuration control.
- Assist with production support by resolving electrical installation and integration issues.
- Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and technical discussions.
- Ensure engineering documentation complies with customer requirements, FAA regulations, and applicable aerospace standards.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3–6 years of electrical systems engineering experience.
- Previous aviation or aerospace industry experience.
- Experience designing and analyzing AC/DC electrical power systems.
- Experience with aircraft data buses and electrical system integration.
- Experience supporting electrical engineering documentation and installation packages.
Preferred
- Experience supporting aircraft modification or STC programs.
- Experience with aircraft audio, communication, and avionics systems.
- Familiarity with military and/or commercial aircraft.
- Basic software or embedded systems development experience.
- Knowledge of FAA certification processes and aerospace quality standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Office-based engineering environment with occasional manufacturing floor and aircraft hangar exposure.
- May require occasional travel to customer facilities or aircraft modification sites.
- Ability to sit, stand, and use computer equipment for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to access manufacturing facilities and aircraft as required.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE

Skills Required
