Econ One Rsearch India is seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented Economic Analyst Consultant to support economic, statistical, and data-driven consulting engagements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with large datasets, and a solid foundation in economics and econometrics. The role requires proficiency in SAS, Python, and SQL for data management, analysis, and reporting.


Requirements
  • Programming skills in SAS, including data manipulation, macros, SQL procedures, loops, and automation techniques.
  • Working knowledge for Python for data analysis, data cleaning, and statistical applications (mandatory).
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying, joining, and managing large datasets.
  • Good understanding of microeconomics, statistics, econometrics, and quantitative research methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies.
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate statistical findings and clearly concisely.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Stat or R is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process, clean, validate, and prepare large datasets for economic and statistical analysis.
  • Import, transform, and manage data form various sources and formats, including Excel, CSV, TXT, and database extracts.
  • Perform data cleaning on numeric, categorical, string, and date/time variables.
  • Conduct data quality checks, validation exercises, and sanity checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Write efficient SAS, Python, and SQL programs to automate data preparation and analytical workflows.
  • Summarize and analyze data using appropriate statistical and econometric techniques.
  • Produce high-quality tables, charts, and visualizations, and analytical outputs for client deliverables.
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and analytical findings in a clear and structured manner.
  • Support economic research, data analysis, and consulting engagements under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams and coordinate with international counterparts on data and analytical requests.
  • Review and validate analytical outputs to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Assist with literature reviews, market research, and secondary research activities as required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal analytical processes, tools, and programming workflows.
