Team / division overview

DWS’s data infrastructure team is responsible for providing the secure, scalable and trustworthy foundation for storing, processing and distributing critical enterprise data. As Senior Security Engineer you’ll focus on understanding the threat landscape, designing and implementing security frameworks for our core data platforms and collaborating with CSO and vendors.

Role Details  

As a Senior Security Engineer - Data Platforms (m/f/d) you will:

  • Design and implement security frameworks and components on data platforms and underlying cloud service providers, ensuring compliance with our security policies.
  • Deploy and manage data infrastructure services on Snowflake, GCP and Azure, using Infrastructure-as-Code to automate resource provisioning and security configurations
  • Manage and optimize GitHub Actions & Runners for seamless CI/CD pipeline automation. Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring security is embedded throughout the development lifecycle and compliance is upheld
  • Configure, manage, and optimize internal security solutions for efficient threat detection and response and collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors
  • Document infrastructure processes, configurations, and operational workflows for improved knowledge sharing and process efficiency

We are looking for 

  • Extensive experience in securing critical enterprise data flows on Snowflake or similar platforms including DLP, access control design and data protection
  • Experience in DevSecOps practices, infrastructure automation, IaC (e.g. Terraform), security tool integrations
  • Good knowledge of SIEM tools and technologies, such as Google SecOps. In-depth knowledge of cloud services and best practices for cloud security
  • Very good programming skills in Python, Java or a similar language
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills and a passion for cybersecurity with a strong aptitude for identifying and solving security challenges in enterprise environments
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Fundamental hands-on experience in cloud security, preferably GCP. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus.
