You are a hands-on strong technical leader with excellent strategic vision and passion for customer success. Your experience includes at least 20+ years in Development and/or Architecture or Algorithm roles in Wi-Fi, BT, 802.15.4, and Cellular. In this role, you will drive thought leadership and market shaping activities for IoT, Compute, Wireless and Security Technologies and Products. Your ability to identify new Industry inflection points to enable massive scale deployment of IoT devices will be key!

Job description:

In your new role you will:

  • Drive Thought leadership activities in Industry Standards and Alliances of relevance to IoT, Compute, Wireless and Security Technologies and Products
  • Drive market shaping activities by preparing strategic standards contributions in the areas of Application layer standards (e.g. Matter),wireless communication protocols, routing and networking protocols and security protocols
  • Engage in Software architecture and software innovation for upcoming and emerging technologies with a systems mindset
  • Track key standards activities and highlight changes of relevance to the business
  • Forge relationships internally and externally to drive new ideas and standards initiatives
  • Work with product development teams in translating the standards specs into feature, implementation and design specs especially including Software Architecture, Make vs Buy analysis, Tools and customer requirements
  • Active participation in Standards bodies and Alliances such as Connectivity Standards Alliance, Thread Consortium, FiRA, CCC, Wi-Fi Alliance, BT-SIG and IEEE 802.15.4
  • Drive new technology initiatives and evangelize the uptake into Standards bodies including Regulatory bodies
  • Identify new Industry inflection points and drive standards and alliances to enable massive scale deployment of IoT devices
  • Identify and champion Alliances participation for market segments of relevance to IoT such as Smart Home, Industrial and Automotive IoT
  • Drive performance, power and Security benchmarks for ML/AI, Compute and Networking in consortiums such as EEBMC, tiny ML and Common Criteria
  • Develop and file appropriate Patent/IP policy including Standards Essential Patents

Your Profile:

You have an energetic, innovative mindset with excellent team work, networking and communication skills.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • Master's degree (PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related field
  • Minimum of 20+ years of experience in Development and/or Architecture and/or Algorithm roles in Wi-Fi, BT, 802.15.4, Cellular
  • Experience in holding leadership positions in standards bodies (BoD, Chair, Vice-Chair etc.) in the field of IoT, Compute and Wireless Communications/Networking and Security
  • Impactful examples of signature contributions to standards development
  • Demonstrated experience in architecting and/or developing Wireless sub-systems or Software or Networking systems from inception to high-volume production
  • Experience in Wi-Fi (IEEE, Wi-Fi Alliance), BT-SIG, IEEE 802.15.4, Thread/ZigBee, CSA, FiRA, CCC, etc. standardization processes and specs
  • Experience in making standards contributions, attending meetings and forging relationships
  • Experience with Wireless Regulatory bodies and specs (e.g. FCC)
  • Excellent team-work skills, working with a wide cross-functional team and peers
  • Excellent documentation, presentation skills to executives
  • Excellent skills in listening to various view-points, incorporating them, articulating the value of solution and defending the ideas
  • Strategic vision to recommend new architectures/avenues from roadmap perspective
  • Passion for customer success

Wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate:

Minimum of $260,900 salary per year

Maximum of $358,700 salary per year

In addition, all employees will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
