Position: Director of IT Platform and Services

📍 Onsite | Mechanicsburg, PA
🕒 Monday–Friday | Full-Time | Salary, Exempt

Looking for an opportunity to lead the platforms and infrastructure that power a fast-growing company, champion AI and automation, and turn technology into measurable business results?

West Shore Home is hiring a Director of IT Platform and Services to lead the enterprise platforms, infrastructure, network and telecommunications, identity, and site reliability that our field and office teams rely on every day. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and leading through managers, you'll own the multi-year platform and services strategy, the function's operating and capital budget, and the reliability, security, and cost-to-serve of the portfolio as we scale organically and through acquisition.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to redesign how IT work gets done, so that the function grows in capability faster than it grows in headcount, and who believes in technology as a business tool, not a typical “IT” mentality.

What You’ll Do

  • Technology strategy and roadmap: Own the multi-year strategy and roadmap for enterprise platforms, infrastructure, network and telecommunications, identity, and site reliability, aligned to business strategy and communicated clearly to executive leadership
  • Leadership through managers: Lead the IT Platform and Services leadership team, set clear outcomes, remove obstacles, and build the organization and bench strength needed to support a growing business
  • Platforms, infrastructure, and identity: Be accountable for the availability, security, resilience, and cost of our enterprise platforms, including collaboration and productivity, workforce and customer identity (IAM and CIAM), cloud and SaaS, and infrastructure
  • Network and telecom: Own LAN, WAN and SD-WAN, wireless, voice and contact center platforms, and carrier services, and ensure new and acquired locations come online on schedule and to standard
  • Site reliability engineering: Establish and lead an SRE practice with service level objectives, observability, automated remediation, and disciplined incident management and post-incident review
  • AI and automation: Champion AI and automation inside IT, setting measurable toil-reduction targets so the function grows in capability faster than it grows in headcount, and provide the secure foundations enterprise AI depends on
  • Financial and vendor management: Own the operating and capital budget and multi-year financial plan, apply FinOps discipline to cloud and SaaS, and lead vendor sourcing, negotiation, and performance management
  • Cybersecurity and risk: Partner with the Chief Information and Security Officer on access governance, Zero Trust practices, vulnerability remediation, and audit and compliance readiness
  • Portfolio and operating discipline: Govern the project portfolio to time, budget, and quality, and establish the KPI scorecard and review cadence that makes improvement visible to the business
  • Scaling for growth and M&A: Build the playbook for standing up new locations, and serve as the IT infrastructure and operations lead for technical diligence and integration of acquisitions
  • Business partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to functional and field leaders, translating their priorities into the roadmap and communicating trade-offs, risk, and value in plain business terms
  • Talent and culture: Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team, raise AI and automation fluency across the organization, and lead in accordance with the West Shore Home Managerial Leadership Practices (MLPs)

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience (eight years of progressive IT leadership experience may substitute for the degree); master's degree or MBA is a plus
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years leading IT teams and at least 3 years managing through managers or senior team leads
  • Experience owning enterprise IT operations end to end (infrastructure, network and telecommunications, cloud, identity, and enterprise platforms) in a multi-site, hybrid environment
  • Experience owning an IT operating and capital budget and vendor portfolio, with a record of improving cost-to-serve and negotiating favorable contracts
  • Demonstrated record of automating infrastructure and platform operations using AI, workflow automation, and infrastructure as code, with measurable results
  • Experience building or maturing IT service management (ITIL) and site reliability engineering practices for business-critical services
  • Experience leading a technology function through significant growth or transformation, including M&A diligence and post-close integration
  • Hands-on fluency with generative AI, copilots, and agentic tools, and the ability to set guardrails aligned with company AI policy
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking and telecom, cloud and SaaS platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure), workforce and customer identity (e.g., Entra ID, Auth0), and security fundamentals
  • Strong financial acumen and executive communication skills, with the ability to present strategy, results, risk, and investment cases to senior leadership
  • Skilled in both technical change management and organizational change management
  • Preferred: experience in a field-based, multi-location operating company (home services, construction, retail, distribution, or similar)
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, Azure or AWS architect, CISSP or CISM, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher are a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Employee discounts and referral program
  • Career growth opportunities
