JOB DESCRIPTION

The pending Axcelis–Veeco merger presents an opportunity to consolidate two global organizations onto a single HR platform that can effectively support the combined company’s growth and operations. As Director, HR Technology, you will lead the Workday integration and establish it as the system of record for approximately 3,000 employees across North America, Europe, and Asia, spanning both manufacturing and corporate environments. Working closely with HR, business leaders, and key stakeholders, you will guide decisions and initiatives that support organizational integration, workforce planning, and a consistent employee experience worldwide.

This is a newly created role that reflects our investment in building a scalable and integrated HR technology foundation for the future. Following the merger, you will report to the Vice President of HR Operations and operate two levels from the CEO, with direct visibility to senior leadership. Leading an existing HRIS team of three you provide the strategic leadership needed to shape the vision, governance, and operating model for Workday, building the capabilities need to support the long-term success of the combined company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the integration of Axcelis and Veeco into a single Workday environment, aligning structures, data, and processes across a 3,000-employee workforce in North America, Europe, and Asia
  • Set and deliver a multi-year Workday roadmap that establishes a scalable system of record and enables consistent operations across manufacturing and corporate populations
  • Build governance, data standards, and release management practices that ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness across a multi-entity global organization
  • Deliver workforce analytics and reporting that enable executives to make faster, more informed decisions on talent, capacity, and organizational performance
  • Translate business needs across HR, IT, payroll, and finance into scalable Workday solutions spanning human capital management, recruiting, compensation, and time tracking
  • Build and lead the HRIS function, developing an existing team of three and defining the structure required to support long-term enterprise growth
  • Manage external partners to deliver integration milestones and ongoing system enhancements aligned with business priorities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience in human resources information systems or HR technology
  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday experience, including implementation or large-scale optimization
  • Experience leading enterprise system initiatives across multiple entities, regions, or business units
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Expertise in Workday modules, including Core HCM, recruiting, compensation, time tracking, benefits, and performance
  • Experience supporting global workforces in manufacturing environments, including time tracking, shift structures, and compliance across North America, Europe, and Asia
  • Experience leading HR system integration during mergers, acquisitions, or large organizational transformations
  • Ability to design data structures and reporting frameworks that provide clear, actionable insights for executive decision-making
  • Skilled at translating complex system capabilities into practical recommendations for senior leaders across HR, IT, payroll, and finance
  • Experience establishing governance models that ensure data integrity, scalability, and long-term system performance
  • Ability to build and scale HR technology teams and define structured, effective operating models

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE

$163,511.00 - $245,267.00

This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.

Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on

multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work

location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as

you develop within the role.

Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the

Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular

employees working 20+ hours a week).
