Bring your ideas, help shape what’s next

Bluecurrent is helping shape the energy future of New Zealand and Australia, empowering partners with strategic insights and innovative technology.

For nearly two decades, we’ve been a trusted leader in smart metering and digital solutions, helping businesses and communities make better energy decisions.

People are at the heart of everything we do. Bluecurrent offers a supportive, inclusive workplace with fantastic benefits, growth opportunities, and an authentic commitment to sustainability.

Every day we live our values of collaboration, innovation, and delivery, so join us and let’s create a smarter, more sustainable future together.

About the role

Exciting opportunity for a Digital Services Manager, to help shape how Bluecurrent uses technology to deliver better outcomes for our people and customers across New Zealand and Australia.

Owning a digital service domain, you will be a trusted technology subject matter expert and business partner, connecting stakeholder priorities with practical improvements across platforms and systems, such as Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations, and AI tooling. This is a relationship led role where you will work much like an internal account manager, building a clear understanding of business needs, anticipating demand, and helping shape priorities for digital services.

What success looks like in this role

  • Own the health and performance of applications and services within your digital service domain, with clear visibility of issues, risks and opportunities to improve.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships, understand the business outcomes people are working towards and translate their needs into clear technology priorities.
  • Manage and prioritise a backlog of issues, requests, minor enhancements and improvement opportunities, balancing value, service risk and technical debt.
  • Forecast emerging demand and improvement needs, helping stakeholders and technical teams make informed decisions about priorities and next steps.
  • Support smooth transition of services from project delivery into BAU, with clear support, ownership and change requirements.
  • Identify recurring issues and practical opportunities to improve service reliability, performance and the value digital services deliver to the business.

What you will bring

You’ll bring a strong mix of curiosity, commercial understanding and digital service experience, with the confidence to connect business priorities and technology. You’re someone who builds trust quickly, communicates clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and enjoys turning business needs into meaningful digital improvements that make work easier and more effective. You will ideally bring:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting or managing live digital services, including service health, operational performance and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with Microsoft platforms and systems, including Power Platform, Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations, Microsoft 365 and AI tooling.
  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to understand needs, influence priorities and keep the focus on useful business outcomes.
  • Strong backlog management and prioritisation skills, including balancing business requests, enhancements, operational issues and technical debt.
  • Experience with incident management and service transition in a digital or technology environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices or service management disciplines would also be valuable.

If you’re excited to connect business needs with technology and help shape digital services that support our teams, apply now and bring your ideas to Bluecurrent!
