About Horizons for Homeless Children 

Horizons for Homeless Children is a leading Massachusetts nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of young children experiencing homelessness and helping families thrive. Through high-quality early education, trauma-informed care, family support, and our statewide Playspace Program, Horizons reaches hundreds of children and families each year across the Commonwealth. 


We are seeking a creative, analytical, and mission-driven Digital Marketing Specialist who understands the digital landscape and how to leverage online tools and platforms to increase awareness, engagement, and fundraising performance. 


Summary of Position 

The Digital Marketing Specialist will implement and manage digital marketing campaigns across email, paid social media, Google Ads, SEO/SEM, and web platforms. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical and creative skills with a data-driven mindset and understands how digital engagement supports fundraising and organizational growth. 

The ideal candidate will bring experience in digital advertising, website management and optimization, analytics, email marketing, and emerging AI tools that improve campaign performance and operational efficiency. 


Key Responsibilities 


Digital Campaign Implementation 

  • Execute integrated digital marketing campaigns across social media, email, paid advertising, and web platforms 

  • Support fundraising, donor engagement, event promotion, volunteer recruitment, and awareness campaigns 

  • Implement data-driven campaign strategies designed to improve engagement, reach, conversion, and ROI 

  • Assist with audience segmentation and digital outreach initiatives 


Paid Advertising & Google Campaigns 

  • Develop, manage, and optimize Google Ad campaigns, including Google Grants 

  • Execute paid social media advertising campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms 

  • Monitor campaign performance and optimize targeting, messaging, budgets, and conversion rates 

  • Conduct A/B testing to improve digital performance and fundraising outcomes 


Website Management & Optimization 

  • Maintain and update website content, landing pages, and campaign materials 

  • Improve website functionality, SEO performance, mobile responsiveness, and user experience 

  • Monitor website analytics and recommend optimizations to increase traffic and engagement 

  • Support digital accessibility and overall site performance 


Content Creation & Email Marketing 

  • Create compelling digital content including graphics, videos, social media posts, newsletters, and fundraising appeals 

  • Manage email marketing campaigns and audience lists 

  • Write clear, engaging, mission-driven copy across digital platforms 

  • Maintain content calendars and support campaign coordination 


Analytics, Reporting & AI Integration 

  • Track and analyze digital performance metrics using Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and related tools 

  • Generate reports on engagement, conversions, audience growth, and fundraising performance 

  • Use AI and automation tools to improve workflow efficiency, content optimization, and digital targeting 

  • Conduct competitor and trend analysis to inform recommendations and improvements 


Workspace   

This is a 40-hour, full-time, onsite position, hybrid position. This position is 4 days onsite and 1 day work from home, with occasional evening/weekend events with notice. The work you will perform is largely sedentary, taking place at a desk or cubicle, in an office setting, working alongside others. There is a large staff room with indoor and outdoor space for breaks as well as a designated quiet room. Our beautiful office space is located:  Edgerley Family Horizons Center at 1785 Columbus Ave, Roxbury, MA.   

  

This position requires the employee to comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and company policy concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and Background record checks.    

   

Starting salary range, compensation, and benefits  


$65,000-$67,000 is the starting salary range for this specialist role. Your starting salary will fall within that range depending on your competencies, experience, and skillset.  


Your total compensation package includes the following benefits:  


Health coverage options designed to be as comprehensive and affordable for you as possible, with Horizons covering between 70-75% of premiums (a value that ranges from an additional $10,000 –30,000 per year based on your enrollment choices). 


While you have a choice between an HMO and PPO plan for medical coverage, most employees pay $117.77 for individual, $235.54 for 2-person, or $370.44 for family coverage per biweekly paycheck and never pay more than $300 for individual or $600 for 2-person/family toward deductibles.

Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or related field preferred 

  • 1–3 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, or digital fundraising 

  • Experience managing Google Ad campaigns and paid social media advertising 

  • Strong understanding of SEO, website optimization, email marketing, and analytics 

  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, CRM systems, and content management platforms 

  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms preferred 

  • Knowledge of AI tools and marketing automation platforms strongly preferred 

  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
