Job Duties and Responsibilities
As we near the launch and roll-out of our 5G network, and continue to navigate the changing landscape in television, we are looking to invest in growing our consumer direct/omnichannel capabilities. This leader will be a key leader in building and enhancing this capability.
Reporting to the VP, Experience Design this leader will build and lead a team of user experience designers to build shared capabilities with focus on UX strategy, design systems, UX patterns and guidelines, content design, service design, user research, and design operations.
You will champion design-led approaches and customer-centricity and lead the digital transformation and digital acceleration of DISH's portfolio of businesses - ranging from our mature business (DISH TV), Sling TV, Retail Wireless businesses and OnTech In-Home services, among others. The leader will play a pivotal role in building digital-led technology capabilities and building the "Digital DNA" of the company.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Key partners/relationships: Business leaders (Retail Wireless, DISH TV, Sling), IT, MarTech, Product Management, Operations leaders
Key responsibilities:
- Play a key role in defining, leading, and advocating for both short and long-term UX strategies for the organization.
- Build and direct a team of designers to develop, improve and maintain a premium online customer and associate experience across all DISH digital properties. Coaches and develops experienced professionals through training, establishing objectives, communicating, and delivering constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with Product Management, IT/Engineering, Creative, Marketing, and other director-level stakeholders to align on omni-channel priorities.
- Foster a culture of design thinking, continuous learning, and constructive design critique.
- Work closely with UX Research to incorporate the customer's voice into the digital experiences across all DISH brands.
- Drive organizational structures, processes, and change management plans to meet the organization's needs.
- Lead the effort to evolve UX patterns, standards, and guidelines for the UX organization.
- Attract, develop, and retain top UX talent.
- Regularly present strategies, plans, and updates to all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
- Develop roadmap strategy, vision, business benefits, and prioritization of goals for XD initiatives.
- Ensure alignment on priorities and direction by collaborating with other groups, stakeholders, and leaders.
- Take ownership of features and services throughout the product lifecycle for our cross-channel customer experiences.
- Promote the practice of good documentation for requirements, use cases, information architecture, taxonomies, creative adaptations, and third-party integrations to increase digital agility and build institutional memory within systems, processes and accurate technical writing and diagramming.
- Monitor and identify customer needs, stay up-to-date on industry standards/trends, and respond by making adjustments to user experience and product roadmaps.
Key success factors:
- 5+ years' in building and leading world-class user experience design organizations and demonstrated discipline leadership at senior levels in the organization.
- 10+ years' experience designing and delivering products in a cross functional team environment.
- Demonstrated success in both enterprise, design agency and more nimble/startup cultures.
- Diplomatic, relationship building and ability to influence people over whom you might not have direct authority.
- Great design sense and customer empathy.
- Demonstrated ability to attract, inspire and grow world-class experience design talent.
- Executive presence and commercial acumen.
- Familiarity with a range of D2C platforms and solutions.
- Grit, a sense of adventure, and a willingness to learn and explore.
Salary Range
Compensation: $175,000.00/Year - $250,000.00/Year
