As (Design System Engineer) you will be responsible for;

The main scope of this service is to provide onsite engineering support to manage technical aspects of an engine and propulsion system for a 25MY vehicle application.

  • Point of contact for all engine hardware issues
  • Lead initial root cause analysis and support through closure
  • Lead Design and Release Engineers (DRE's) in meeting program objectives for their components with respect to cost, weight, performance, quality, manufacturing, timing, etc.
  • Chair Board Review Meeting
  • Prioritize and maintain meeting agenda, drive decisions on key issues, ensure adequate representation, document meeting notes, document presentation material
  • Chair Engine Design Zone Meetings
  • Ensure adequate representation, elevate unresolved issues, lead/challenge the team to deliver the benchmark design
  • Support Engine Change Management
  • Work with the DRE's and the broader team to move engineering change notices through the CN process. Act as a conduit between DRE's and broader approving team to address issues/questions/concerns as they arise.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives
  • Support DRE's in technical review of feasibility, validation testing requirements, business case, etc.
  • Author engine build book
  • Approve owner manuals
  • Vehicle team support
  • Initiate contact and support meetings with other business units: aerothermal, underhood packaging, cooling system architecture
  • Manage engine mass
  • Support issue resolution and drive DRE's to resolution on open issues
  • Support dyno incidents -- tracking and closure
  • Engine Teardown Review -- Chair teardown reviews
  • Support build activities at engine assembly plant and Engine Build Up

Qualifications;

  • Supplier must have demonstrated a wide range of technical expertise in Engine / Propulsion Systems
  • Supplier must be able to analyze and process data in INCA MDA, Matlab, Simulink, CANalyzer and/or Microsoft Excel
  • Supplier must be able to lead resolution of technical issues with structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Supplier must be able to provide value evaluations for different solution proposals
  • Supplier must have a working knowledge of customer NX and TeamCenter
  • Supplier must have access to Bestandard for engineering standards

Computer and software:

  • INCA and MDA
  • DCPlot or similar
  • MS Office
  • NX and TeamCenter
