We are currently seeking a full-time Day Program Director for our Life Choices program in Wakefield, MA. This position provides leadership and guidance to Life Choices which promotes and maximizes opportunities for personal development and community engagement for individuals receiving services. The Life Choices Director will have direct supervisory responsibility for Day Hab management, and will be working in cooperation with other directors to ensure the quality of program services as well as effective and efficient communication across all agency departments. The Life Choices Director will assist in hiring, supervising, and training all Life Choices Staff, conduct weekly scheduled team meetings, and work in conjunction with the clinical team to provide all needed supports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Life Choices in such a manner as to ensure that support services and community inclusion opportunities are maximized for individuals receiving services.  This includes ensuring group activities are routinely planned and carried out and that staff are trained in delivering appropriate developmental activities to individuals receiving services.
  • Provide positive management to staff under your supervision.  This includes regular supervisions, staff development and mentoring, as well as managing employee relations issues that arise.  Ensure that disciplinary issues are addressed within the parameters of the Progressive Discipline Policy and in coordination with Director of Day Services and Human Resources.
  • Solicit and secure adequate referrals for support and expansion of Life Choices.  This includes building solid relationships with participants, community resources, funding sources, families and residences.  Provide tours of facility and programs as necessary.
  • With Life Choices Assistant Director, the interdisciplinary team and staff, evaluate clinical and programmatic needs.  Ensure implementation of appropriate curriculum so as to address individual needs and interests within the context of available resources.
  • Ensure the implementation of licensing and accreditation standards for Agency policies and in compliance with CARF, EOEA and DMR regulations as applicable.
  • Provide trainings to staff as part of organizational training efforts or determined by needs of the staff.
  • Oversee the case management and quality enhancement systems to ensure documentation is completed in compliance with CARF, EOEA, and DDS regulations. Ensure appropriate representation at pre-ISP and ISP meetings, as well as attending meetings relevant to Life Choices needs, such as meetings with funding sources, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. 
  • A minimum of five years of management experience in developmental disability services, including supervisory and fiscal management. 
  • Three or more years providing direct service to individuals with developmental disabilities. 
  • Must have a current driver’s license, acceptable CORI report (criminal record assessment) and clear fingerprinting results.
