Database System Administrator

OverviewJob Summary:Malanai LLC is seeking a skilled Database System Administrator to manage and optimize a software server environment. In this role, you will ensure system reliability, security, and performance across the server infrastructure. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, implement upgrades, and collaborate with IT and development teams to support organizational needs.   Duties and Responsibilities include: • Install, configure, and support computer systems and peripheral hardware including memory, drives, network cards, media converters, routers, switches• Administer and troubleshoot Windows-based servers and workstations both locally and remotely• Perform system tasks such as adding/removing users, software installation, monitoring systems, and daily user assistance• Provide remote support by identifying issues through diagnostic techniques, escalating unresolved issues, and ensuring complete resolution and documentation• Support operational continuity by logging tickets accurately, tracking incident status, and maintaining detailed records of problem-solving actions• Assist in deploying IT hardware through base configurations, coordinating logistics, shipping equipment, and validating receipt and inventory• Monitor server performance and ensure availability and stability.• Diagnose and resolve system or application issues to reduce downtime.• Implement and maintain security controls, updates, and patch management.• Conduct routine system backups and support disaster recovery procedures.• Complete other duties as assigned RequirementsKnowledge/Experience in the following: • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).• 1-3 years of system administration experience with software server environments.• Active Directory Account Management• Windows Server 2012/2016• Windows 11 troubleshooting and OS deployment• Application troubleshooting• MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM))• SQL Server Management Studio and basic SQL queries• ServiceNow (requests, incidents, change, asset management)• Management of access to resources in AWS• Experience managing end-to-end products in AWS• Familiarity with current industry best practices for cloud resource management• Experience aligning the migration to cloud architecture with industry best practices• Experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems  Benefits:  • Employer Paid Medical Insurance  • Dental and Vision Insurance  • 401k  • PTO  • Tuition Reimbursement   • Paid Parental Leave    Physical Requirements: Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.  Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen.  Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.  May include lifting weight up to 50 pounds as necessary.   Malanai LLC reserves the right to change or modify job duties and assignments at any time.  The above job description is not all encompassing.
