About the role
We are looking for a ClickHouse & PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our Engineering team in Istanbul. You will own the reliability, performance and scalability of the databases behind our network automation platform, which processes large volumes of mobile network data for operators worldwide.
What you will do
- Design, operate, monitor and troubleshoot production ClickHouse clusters (sharding, replication, ClickHouse Keeper/ZooKeeper, MergeTree table design, TTL and partitioning)
- Manage and tune PostgreSQL databases, including high availability (e.g. Patroni), replication, backup and recovery
- Optimize query performance and storage for high-volume analytical workloads
- Plan and test backup, restore and disaster recovery procedures
- Automate provisioning, upgrades and maintenance (Ansible, scripting, IaC)
- Support application development teams on schema design, data modelling and query optimization
- Build and maintain test and staging environments
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 4+ years of experience as a DBA / DBRE / data platform engineer
- Hands-on production experience with ClickHouse or PostgreSQL, and solid working knowledge of the other
- Oracle DBA background is a plus
- Experience with replication, high availability and backup/recovery
- Strong Linux skills and shell scripting
- Good verbal and written English
- Being able to work in Turkey
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
