JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the front and back end software development for the tools used by Field Technicians to issue, track, activate and close jobs for customers . Demonstrates engineering and operational excellence by providing a highly available application and services platform at scale. Interfaces at the various levels of the organization to define and provide strategy, development standards, and implement such solutions that align with our broader corporate strategy and ultimately drive a superior customer experience. Accountable for leading, managing, mentoring, and developing the teams responsible for creating software solutions for the Field Operations organization with a focus on scalability, time to market, delivery, operations, and customer experience.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Oversee development of Charter's front and back end application infrastructures for mobile Field Technician use, with a focus on improving and enhancing user experiences.
Drive a culture of data-driven operations by ensuring that all applications and APIs are deeply instrumented and monitored.
Continually increase operational efficiency and availability of all systems and applications.
Embraces cooperation with other Charter teams from Field Operations, to infrastructure and application development.
Drive continual improvements within the application and services that allow Charter to decrease time to market for new technician experiences and workflows.
Build in native support for canary releases and A/B testing into applications and data services stack.
Ensure vertical leaders are providing forward looking insight into new technologies and capabilities that will allow Charter to innovate and provide amazing Field Technician experiences.
Own the successful implementation of technologies, architecture, and business-driven initiatives.
Champion adoption of systems/tools/processes where appropriate.
Partner with senior leadership on the continuing transformation of Charter into a data and analytics driven organization.
Lead a high-performing development team recruiting, training, coaching and developing effective leaders and staff.
Ensure teams have appropriate support to meet goals and ensure that project risks are identified, mitigated and communicated to stakeholders.
Ensure that the application and data platform and services are compliant with industry and government regulations, while protecting our data assets with the highest levels of security.
Complete monthly executive summaries of development accomplishments / issues and more generally communicate progress with other technology leaders.
Prioritize initiatives in line with the priorities provided by Field Operations.
Instill and reinforce a strong customer service and business-oriented ethic in the entire team.
Provide strong management and leadership skills with a proactive participative management style.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speech and understand English
Technical leader familiar with Android, Java and Microservices development.
Exposure to GraphQL based APIs
Experience developing distributed software
Thorough understanding of public cloud infrastructure services capabilities such as AWS
Thorough understanding of modern micro service and content management architectures that can be employed to provide amazing customer experience on digital platforms at web scale
Ability to operate customer facing production services at web scale, 24/7/365
Demonstrated understanding of DevOps principles and track record of transforming organizations to apply them in practice
A strong and consistent history of leading people and projects to a successful, high impact outcome
Excellent communication skills: Listening, verbal and written
Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal
Ability to negotiate and defuse conflict
Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative
Team-building, recruiting, and talent management skills are essential
Ability to positively influence and persuade
Act independently or with limited direction
Possess effective communications skills including presentation skills
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively
Knowledge of cable services or industry experience preferred, but not required
Compassionate leadership champion
Education
BA or BS College Degree or related work experience
Master's Degree or MBA preferred
Related Work Experience
10 years of Telecommunications, Product and/or equivalent experience
5+ years of Software engineering team management
6+ years of Distributed computing software development

The pay for this position has a minimum of $151,300.00. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
