Broadpin is an international consulting company for Oracle solutions, formed through the merger of PROMATIS, Project Partners, Quistor, and PITSS, supporting clients across a wide range of industries with business process excellence and digital transformation programs. In our Platforms & Development business unit, we develop Horus® products for business process management. The new, web-based Horus® enables collaborative modeling as well as efficient browsing and presentation of modeled content.
TasksIn many companies, recurring operational workflows are documented as business processes. Beyond simple textual documentation of such workflows, graphical modeling notations such as Petri nets or BPMN 2.0 have become established standards. They enable processes to be modeled in a clear and easily understandable way and can be created and maintained using business process modeling tools.
Alongside business process modeling, knowledge management platforms, such as Atlassian Confluence or Microsoft SharePoint, have become widely established, providing a central place for documenting and maintaining organizational knowledge in parallel.
While modeling tools are essential for creating process models, end users typically interact primarily with knowledge management platforms rather than the modeling tools. As a result, business processes often remain in the background. Ideally, these systems should work together to provide users with high-quality process models alongside structured, in-depth knowledge.
As part of a thesis project, the aim is to investigate how a process management tool can be effectively integrated with internal knowledge management platforms. The objective is to enable seamless interaction between model creation and the use of knowledge captured in those models.
