About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing public accounting firm in downtown Cincinnati, is seeking an experienced CPA to join its Audit & Assurance practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys client-facing work but is interested in moving into a smaller, entrepreneurial firm where they can have greater autonomy, influence, and visibility.

The position will have a strong focus on audit and assurance engagements, with additional exposure to other areas of public accounting. The right person will be capable of independently managing engagements from start to finish and developing trusted relationships with privately held clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion
• Perform financial statement audits, reviews, and 401(k)/employee benefit plan audits
• Independently manage engagement workflow, documentation, deadlines, and deliverables
• Work directly with privately held business owners and financial leaders
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Deliver accurate, high-quality work in accordance with applicable professional standards
• Manage engagements efficiently against established budgets and timelines
• Assist with tax and other public accounting work as needed
• Collaborate closely with firm leadership and contribute to the continued growth of the practice

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required
• 4–5+ years of public accounting audit/assurance experience
• Ability to independently manage an audit engagement from start to finish
• Experience working directly with clients
• Experience with privately held businesses preferred
• Big Four, national, or regional public accounting experience welcomed but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Personable, confident, and comfortable interacting with clients
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
