Position OverviewAugment Professional Services (APS) is seeking experienced Controls Systems Engineers to support complex controls, automation, and facility systems within a large-scale advanced manufacturing environment.
The Controls Systems Engineer will support the design, integration, troubleshooting, commissioning, and optimization of industrial control systems used throughout manufacturing, cleanroom, utility, and facility infrastructure. The ideal professional will have hands-on experience with PLC-based control systems and the ability to interface with electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, commissioning, and construction teams.
Candidates with experience supporting semiconductor facilities, data centers, cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing facilities, or other technically complex industrial environments are strongly preferred.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Support design, implementation, integration, and commissioning of industrial control systems.
- Review controls drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, and technical documentation.
- Support PLC-based automation and controls systems.
- Troubleshoot field instrumentation, control panels, communication networks, and related equipment.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, instrumentation, and construction teams.
- Support control system startup, testing, validation, and turnover activities.
- Review installation quality and verify systems are constructed in accordance with project requirements.
- Diagnose controls-related failures and provide technical solutions in an active project environment.
- Support cleanroom, process utility, HVAC, and facility automation systems as required.
- Work effectively with contractors, engineering teams, commissioning teams, and client stakeholders.
- Professional experience in controls engineering, industrial automation, or controls systems integration.
- Strong understanding of PLC-based control systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Experience with field instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, and control devices.
- Understanding of industrial communication and controls architecture.
- Experience troubleshooting controls systems in the field.
- Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or facility control systems.
- Ability to work in an active construction, manufacturing, or commissioning environment.
- Strong technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience supporting semiconductor, data center, cleanroom, battery manufacturing, automotive, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Experience with large-scale industrial construction or facility startup.
- Experience supporting building automation systems, process controls, or facility management systems.
- Previous EPC, owner-side engineering, commissioning, or major capital project experience.
- Experience with Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or comparable controls platforms.
