About Fin
Fin is a next-generation payments platform built for high-value, global, and instant transactions. We are a Series A-stage company backed by Sequoia, Circle, and other notable investors. Powered by stablecoins, Fin enables users and businesses to move millions of dollars in seconds - whether to other Fin users, directly into bank accounts, or across crypto rails. By combining the speed of crypto with the reliability and trust of traditional finance, Fin reimagines how money moves worldwide. If banks and payment products were reinvented today, they would look like Fin.
About the roleYou will be Fin's first dedicated compliance operations hire, running the day-to-day engine of our compliance program. You report to the Head of Compliance.
Our compliance framework is in place: a Board-approved Compliance Charter, core programs for sanctions and financial crime, due diligence, fraud, complaints, third-party risk and records management, and a modern tooling stack. What we need now is someone who makes it run, every day, at the speed our customers move money.
This is a hands-on role. You will review real businesses, work real alerts, and help turn manual processes into automated, auditable workflows alongside engineering. Payment volume is growing quickly, and this role is how compliance capacity keeps pace.
What you'll doBusiness onboarding and due diligenceOwn the KYB/CDD review queue: use our tooling to verify legal entity, formation and DBA records, registered and operating addresses, website and commercial footprint, beneficial owners (25%+) and control persons.
Manage customer risk rating process, and run enhanced due diligence on higher-risk profiles such as complex ownership, PEP exposure, high-risk industries or FATF-monitored jurisdictions.
Issue and track RFIs, judge whether responses actually resolve the gap, and write clear disposition memos, including decline and exit recommendations.
Disposition sanctions, PEP and adverse media matches for entities and associated persons, with documented rationale.
Triage blockchain analytics alerts on inbound and outbound transfers, and run hold-and-review workflows for flagged funds as pre-transaction interdiction comes online.
Answer partner due diligence and information requests accurately and on time, and deliver against our partner reporting calendar.
Write and maintain the procedures and runbooks that sit under our compliance programs.
Track and report operating metrics such as queue age, review turnaround, alert volumes, RFI aging and override rates.
Spot recurring manual work and turn it into a tooling or workflow fix.
1-4+ years in compliance operations at a fintech, payments company, crypto business or bank, with direct ownership of AML, KYB/CDD and/or EDD reviews.
Strong business due diligence skills: you can untangle multi-layer ownership, read formation documents and registry records, and tell when a business's story does not add up.
Experience investigating unusual activity and writing referrals or case narratives that another compliance team could act on without follow-up questions.
Working knowledge of the BSA/AML framework, FinCEN guidance and FATF standards as they apply to payments and digital assets.
Clear, precise writing. Your memos and RFIs hold up to partner, auditor and examiner review.
CAMS, CAMS-FCI, CCI, CRCM or a similar certification.
Experience with trade-based money laundering typologies or with wholesale, trading or import/export customers.
Hands-on experience dispositioning sanctions, PEP and adverse media alerts, with a working knowledge of OFAC requirements.
Experience with Persona, Middesk or similar KYB and case management platforms.
Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools (such as Chainalysis or TRM) and with how stablecoin flows move on-chain.
