Fairway Ford is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Commercial Outside Sales Representative to grow our commercial and fleet vehicle business throughout Greenville and the Upstate. This position is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys meeting business owners, identifying transportation needs, and developing long-term customer relationships.

For more than 60 years, family-owned and operated Fairway Automotive Group has served the Upstate of South Carolina. Our commercial operation is supported by Ford vehicles, pre-owned inventory, and the Fairway Ford Pro Elite Commercial Service facility, giving customers a dependable resource for vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and fleet support

Responsibilities

  • Develop new commercial business by prospecting companies, government organizations, municipalities, contractors, and fleet operators      throughout the assigned territory.
  • Conduct outside sales activities, including business visits, networking, cold calling, email outreach, referrals, and scheduled      customer appointments.
  • Manage the complete sales process from lead generation and      qualification through vehicle presentation, negotiation, delivery, and      post-sale follow-up.
  • Assess customer needs by learning about vehicle usage, fleet size, replacement cycles, budgets, timelines, equipment requirements, and service expectations.
  • Recommend appropriate solutions from Fairway Ford's commercial vehicle inventory, including trucks, vans, chassis cabs, work-ready      vehicles, and fleet options.
  • Build lasting customer relationships through consistent communication, responsive service, and regular account reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including sales management, finance, service, parts, and vehicle-upfit partners, to provide a smooth      customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, appointments, proposals, customer communications, and sales activity in the dealership CRM.
  • Monitor the local market for emerging opportunities, competitive activity, industry trends, and changes in customer demand.
  • Meet or exceed performance goals for prospecting activity, appointments, unit sales, gross profit, account development, and customer      retention.
  • Represent Fairway Ford professionally at trade shows, chamber events, association meetings, customer locations, and community functions.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of successful sales experience is preferred, ideally in outside sales, automotive sales, fleet sales, commercial equipment, construction, or another business-to-business environment.
  • Proven ability to prospect, develop accounts, negotiate, and close sales.
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and customer-service skills.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage a territory and work independently.
  • Working knowledge of commercial vehicles, fleet operations, or business transportation needs is preferred.
  • Comfortable using CRM software, email, mobile devices, and standard business applications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or sales training is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned market and occasionally work outside standard business hours for customer or community events.
