Position Summary

The Commercial Sales & Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share within the commercial and industrial coatings division for Colours Inc. This position develops and executes strategic sales initiatives, leads sales performance within the assigned territory, and strengthens long-term client relationships.

The role requires strong leadership capabilities, industry expertise, and the ability to build and implement effective sales strategies while fostering a high-performing sales culture. The Commercial Sales & Development Manager collaborates cross-functionally to align sales efforts with overall business objectives and ensure consistent execution of company standards. This position will be covering all of South Dakota and Nebraska. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence within the commercial and industrial coatings sector.
  • Conduct ongoing market research and analysis to identify industry trends, competitive activity, and growth opportunities. Utilize insights to refine strategies and drive business development.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while proactively expanding the customer base and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor, and support sales representatives to maximize performance, professional development, and overall team effectiveness.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, track progress toward revenue goals, and provide regular reporting to senior management with actionable insights.
  • Maintain strong product and industry knowledge to ensure accurate positioning of company solutions and provide training and guidance to the sales team.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, product development, and customer service teams to align sales initiatives with company objectives and deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards while promoting accountability and professionalism.

  • Proven experience in sales leadership or sales management, preferably within the commercial and industrial coatings industry.
  • Strong knowledge of coatings products, applications, and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team toward measurable results.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
