- Tier One Technologies is seeking a COBOL/CICS Developer to support Payroll applications for our US Government client.
- This will be a 100% remote Contract-to-Hire position.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
- Ensure that requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
- Translate high-level product development strategies into system requirements specifications and work with other engineering disciplines to develop detailed, lower-level implementation requirements.
- Establish and coordinate the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to overall product development.
- Design interfaces and integrate system elements to ensure they function together as a cohesive system.
- Assess system performance using established evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
- Act as a customer liaison and support business development activities to understand and shape requirements.
- Participate in system conceptual design and document design concepts.
- Participate in design reviews of hardware and software components to ensure their applicability to the current system and maintain requirements traceability through compliance verification and validation.
- Review test plans and procedures to ensure they meet contractual requirements and participate in testing activities to validate requirements.
- Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts in making required changes.
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify database identifiers for database management systems, or direct others in coding these descriptions.
- Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
- Review project requests describing database user needs and estimate the time and cost required to complete the project.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required.
- 4+ years of experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL and DB2.
- Prior experience supporting Payroll applications is a plus.
- Experience utilizing Agile methodology.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizenship).
- Able to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance.
- Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
- Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
