Pay Range $17 to $30 hourly depending on experience.
The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer (Couplings) is responsible for developing and modifying CNC programs used in the production of coupling components. This role ensures machining accuracy, efficiency, and conformance to specifications while collaborating with engineers, machinists, and production personnel to optimize tooling, processes, and overall quality. Attention to detail, technical expertise, and adherence to safety and company standards are essential for success.
QualificationsRequirements
- CNC Apprentice Requirements: As a CNC Apprentice, you will be trained in the skills shown above. Must have CNC experience from either College or small parts.
- CNC Programmer Requirements: 5 years of CNC Vertical and Horizontal Lathe experience in a production job shop manufacturing parts 16" to 78" in diameter.
- Must agree to (and pass) drug screening, physical, and background check.
- Prior experience with the metric system and Okuma CNC’s are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
- Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Responsible for 100% of the quality of part manufactured.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as manual and digital micrometers and calipers to meet tolerance requirements.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Able to detect and diagnose machine malfunctions and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Conduct and record maintenance on the machine(s).
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel in various inner-company departments, customers, and vendors.
- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- This position reports directly to the CAD/CAM CNC Supervisor.
