Job Description

The purpose of this position is to support the department’s ability to achieve its goals and objectives. This includes performing CMM programming tasks in support of the existing machining process and new product development. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  1. Write, develop, validate and debug Cartesian measuring machine programs and provide the supporting documentation for CMM machines.
  2. Communicate with all stakeholders, supervisors, engineers, and skilled trades to meet customer/shop floor needs.
  3. Support the development and improvement of measuring systems and effective programming for assigned areas.
  4. Recommend and implement as directed programming best practices and aspire to support measurement systems for the manufacturing organization.
  5. Recommend, implement as directed, support, and provide continuous improvement of lean measuring systems through effective programming and up to date measuring practices. 
  6. Design adequate work holdings for part inspection.
  7. Troubleshoot and solve both machine issues and related problems in the measuring process.
  8. Train manufacturing and quality personnel on CMM machines.
  9. Assist in measurement development for NPD components and the continuous improvement process for existing components.
  10. Comply with all PAC policy.

Physical Requirements

  1. This position operates in both a lab and shop floor environment.
  2. Able to move about the plant and engage Associates in their work cells.
  3. Satisfactory scheduled eye examinations as required by procedures
  4. Successful completion of a medical exam and drug screening required prior to employment at PAC

Qualifications

Suggested Qualifications

  1. Associate Degree in a manufacturing technology field preferred or a combination of professional training and experience. 
  2. 10 years successful prior essential duty related experience.
  3. Specific knowledge of the following: CAD, CMM, Calypso, Pro E,
  4. Ability to use common measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators
  5. Working knowledge of machine, tool, fixture, work-holding and die design.
  6. Strong specific knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, setup, tooling and fixture techniques.
  7. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Eligibility to work with sensitive controlled data and materials according to ITARs policy and practice.
