VILLAGE GREEN
The Claims and Risk Manager is responsible for the design, development and implementation of all risk management activities/issues affecting the organization. This position is accountable for the primary focus: incident-reporting and claims management and settlements. The Claims and Risk Manager will also be called upon to assist in other areas as needed, such as contract reviews, litigation data collection, and special risk management projects.
Job DescriptionESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Closely monitoring of RM Help mailbox to determine if immediate action by Risk or other VG teams is required.
· Manages claims and loss control activities working closely with insurance carriers and their adjusters and Village Green property teams and owners.
· Manages and provides feedback to external claims managers.
· Fosters relationships with third-party service providers including insurance broker and others in connection with this role.
· Provides guidance and subject matter expertise to operations personnel regarding risk mitigation, claims and loss control issues.
· Maintains Net Vendor
· Updates and monitors compliance with insurance procedures and loss control inspections.
· Manages risk management manuals, high rise evacuation plans and associate training.
· Reviews, processes, and coordinates reasonable accommodation requests to ensure compliance with fair housing requirements.
· Conduct training sessions to the Village Green site teams on Risk Management and Crisis Communication – RM 107.
· Manage workers' compensation insurance claims and ensure timely, accurate OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
· Other duties as assigned
QualificationsREQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in business or risk management; deeper expertise in insurance coverages preferred.
· MS office: strong skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
· Collaborative, innovative, strong team player
· Previous experience and advanced knowledge working on claims management strategies
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively by adapting approach, language and style to a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders. Ability to partner and collaborate with various constituencies.
