This role is focused on hunting for new business while also expanding relationships with existing customers.
The successful candidate will represent the full portfolio of AMFT capabilities, including precision springs, stampings, fineblanking, metal forming, assemblies, tooling, and engineered components. Working closely with engineering, operations, and customer service teams, this individual will help customers solve complex manufacturing challenges while delivering profitable growth for AMFT.Key ResponsibilitiesNew Business Development (50%)
- Identify, prospect, and secure new customer opportunities within Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.
- Build and execute a territory growth plan focused on target industries and strategic accounts.
- Develop relationships with original equipment manufacturers, Tier suppliers, distributors, and key decision-makers.
- Manage the complete sales process from lead generation through quote, negotiation, award, and launch.
- Conduct customer visits, presentations, and technical discussions to uncover new opportunities.
- Represent AMFT at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
- Expand existing customer relationships by introducing additional AMFT capabilities and solutions.
- Increase share of wallet through cross-selling and opportunities involving multiple sites or brands.
- Establish long-term partnerships with key accounts.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to provide solutions that meet customer requirements.
- Support smooth transitions from business development through production launch.
- Maintain accurate opportunities, forecasts, customer activities, and contact information in Salesforce.
- Provide regular pipeline updates and sales forecasts.
- Submit timely customer visit reports and opportunity updates.
- Participate in weekly pipeline reviews and sales meetings.
- Meet established activity, prospecting, revenue, and profitability objectives.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity.
- Identify emerging opportunities in industrial, aerospace, medical, defense, energy, electronics, and infrastructure markets.
- Provide customer and market feedback to support AMFT growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with sales leadership on territory strategies and market expansion plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of business development, sales, or account management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven success generating and winning new business.
- Experience managing complex customer relationships and sales cycles.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using a customer relationship management system, such as Salesforce.
- Ability to travel approximately 50–70% throughout the assigned region.
