Caron Scientific is seeking a Business Development Manager to identify and develop strategic growth opportunities across life sciences and targeted secondary markets, including food and beverage, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, and other technical markets.
This role is ideal for a strategic, commercially driven business development professional with experience in capital equipment or complex technical solutions. You’ll build qualified pipeline, develop new customers and applications, and identify opportunities with meaningful revenue potential.
This is not a territory-based sales role. You’ll take a strategic, enterprise-wide approach to identifying and developing growth opportunities across markets, while partnering with the sales team to advance opportunities and turn business development activity into wins.
What You’ll Do
· Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across core and secondary markets.
· Build and maintain a qualified pipeline aligned with growth and revenue objectives.
· Develop new customers, applications, and market opportunities for Caron solutions.
· Partner with the sales team to advance opportunities through the sales process and help drive wins.
· Build strategic customer and industry relationships that create and advance commercial opportunities.
· Adapt quickly to changing priorities and focus efforts on opportunities with meaningful commercial potential.
QualificationsWho You Are
· Minimum 5 years of business development, strategic sales, or account development experience involving capital equipment or complex technical solutions.
· Experience in life sciences or relevant secondary markets such as food and beverage, nutraceuticals, cosmetics/personal care, or similar technical industries.
· Proven ability to develop business opportunities that translate into measurable revenue results.
· Strategic and commercially driven, with a strong motivation to win business—not simply generate leads or pipeline.
· Adaptable, collaborative, and effective at partnering with sales teams to advance opportunities.
· Strong communication and relationship-building skills across technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
· Ability to travel up to 50% as needed, primarily domestically with occasional international travel.
· Must reside within reasonable proximity to a major airport.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $135,000–$150,000 annually, plus eligibility for a 30% target annual bonus. Actual base salary will be determined based on factors including the candidate’s geographic location, relevant experience, qualifications, and skills.
Caron Scientific offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), disability insurance, paid time off, and other company-sponsored benefits. Eligibility and benefit offerings are subject to the terms of the applicable plans and company policies.
