dcbel Inc. (www.dcbel.energy) designs and sells residential products to make clean, efficient, and sustainable energy accessible to all — because everyone in the world deserves energy without compromise.

dcbel is at the leading edge of the residential energy revolution. Its products enable decentralized energy consumption and production through its vertically integrated suite of energy hardware and software products, and their supporting infrastructure.

Our flagship product, dcbel Ara, is a Home Energy Station that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and power their home, unlocking their EV’s battery for blackout protection, backup power (V2H) and grid services (V2G), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, stationary battery and the grid.

The opportunity

As dcbel scales, the business applications behind it need to scale too. We are looking for a Business Application Architect to design the next generation of our ERP, CRM, WMS and manufacturing systems, with a focus on how the business actually uses them.

You will define the target architecture, lead the shift to fit-to-standard solutions, and bring our AI strategy into everyday business processes — from product design through production, shipping and invoicing.

Main responsibilities

  • Define the target architecture across ERP, CRM, MES, PLM, QMS and analytics with subject-matter experts and department heads.
  • Build function-based roadmaps that avoid technical debt and support the company’s scale-up.
  • Align with the Integration Services Architect and the Head of Architecture on a unified vision for data flows and services.
  • Drive the adoption of AI in business applications, in line with dcbel’s AI strategy.
  • Lead architecture governance: design reviews, non-functional requirements, security and compliance, and cost management, aligned with enterprise architecture guidelines.
  • Model end-to-end flows from PLM/BOM to production orders, shop-floor execution, shipping and invoicing, keeping Business Central as the source of truth for product master data.
  • Replace custom configurations with fit-to-standard solutions that maximize user efficiency and respect data governance.
  • Design discrete-manufacturing solutions covering demand planning/MRP, scheduling, routings, work centers, time and labour capture, traceability, rework and IoT data capture into MES.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 10+ years implementing or consulting on ERP, CRM and business applications, including 3–5 years as a solution architect or senior consultant.
  • Proven MES implementation or integration experience.
  • Proven track record of AI adoption in business applications.
  • Based in or near Montreal; regular on-site presence required.

Profile

  • Excellent facilitation, documentation and communication skills.
  • Curious and willing to challenge established practices to find better ways of working.
  • Systems thinker who balances business needs, user efficiency and data governance.
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics 365 CE/Sales in a manufacturing context is an asset.
  • Experience connecting PLM with BC/MES for controlled release and BOM synchronization is an asset.
  • Knowledge of prototyping cycles and new product commercialization is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform, ALM Accelerator/DevOps for Dynamics, CRM solution layering and BC extension best practices is an asset.
  • Bilingual English/French is an asset.

What's in it for you

  • Lead the clean-energy transition by getting to work on category-defining products that give people more choices to live sustainably.
  • Be part of a company that is backed by numerous globally respected investors and has world-changing patents in an industry changing for the first time in history.
  • Grow your professional experience amongst blue chip partners and a close-knit team of committed and experienced energy experts who deeply care about the work they do.
  • Full benefits package including Health insurance, Health virtual care, employee stock options plan (ESOP) and flexible hours. Parking available or with our employer commute program a short walking distance from Metro Namur.
