Job Description

What You'll Do:

The Business Analyst serves as the liaison among product management and development to translate business needs into product requirements. The Business Analyst works with stakeholders to understand the requirements for a product and translates requirements into user stories and technical documentation. The Business Analyst communicates the requirements to the Product Owner and the delivery team and facilitates activities through the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirement Elicitation and Documentation: Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand product vision, goals, and user needs. Elicit, document, and prioritize requirements, ensuring they are clear, concise, and actionable for the development team.
  • User Story Development: Translate high-level product requirements into detailed user stories with acceptance criteria. Work closely with product owners and development teams to refine user stories and ensure they align with the overall product vision and roadmap.
  • Requirements Management: Manage and prioritize requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Ensure that requirements are documented, tracked, and communicated effectively to stakeholders and product teams. Facilitate backlog grooming sessions to refine user stories, estimate effort, and plan upcoming sprints.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain project documentation, including business requirements documents, functional specifications, and project plans. Generate reports and presentations to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
  • Requirements Traceability and Management: Establish traceability between business requirements, user stories, and product features to ensure alignment throughout the product lifecycle. Track changes to requirements and manage version control to support effective communication and decision-making.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support: Assist in defining test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and UAT plans based on business requirements. Coordinate with QA teams and stakeholders to ensure thorough testing of new features and enhancements before release.

Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed: 

  • Strong understanding of API design principles and RESTful web services
  • Experience with API documentation tools such as Swagger or Postman
  • Solid knowledge of e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento or WooCommerce
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field
  • Understanding of and practical experience with Agile Methodology
