Job Description:

Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.

In this role, you will develop, maintain, enhance, test, and support software solutions while working within an Agile development environment. You will support backend software development using technologies such as Git, Java, C++, or Python, relational databases, SQL, and Amazon Web Services.

You will work individually and as part of a team to analyze requirements, develop and modify software, support testing, maintain technical documentation, and ensure the quality of developed and modified software.


Telework: Up to 16 hours per week. Telework availability is dependent upon sprint tasking and program requirements.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements. 
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features. 
  • Debug existing software and correct defects. 
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments. 
  • Develop data queries for existing or proposed databases and data repositories. 
  • Design or implement database and data repository interfaces and queries. 
  • Develop or implement algorithms to meet system performance and functional standards. 
  • Support the development and execution of test procedures for software components. 
  • Ensure quality control of developed and modified software. 
  • Write, review, and maintain software, system, and technical documentation. 
  • Recommend and implement improvements to documentation and software development process standards. 
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance. 
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, system flow, data usage, work processes, and problem areas. 
  • Work with system and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. 
  • Support software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met. 
  • Work within an Agile development environment.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required. 
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. 
    • Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. 
  • Experience supporting the development and execution of test procedures for software components. 
  • Experience generating technical documentation. 
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment. 
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS). 
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence. 
  • Experience ensuring quality control of developed and modified software. 
  • Experience with Git. 
  • Experience with Java, C++, or Python
  • Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL. 
  • Experience with SQL.
