Backend Engineer - New Grad

About the Role

We are looking for a Jr Backend Developer to join our team as part of Cherry’s New Grad Program. You’ll contribute to real product development from day one, supported by a dedicated mentor and peer buddy. If you’re passionate about building backend systems, APIs, and scalable infrastructure—we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and services

• Work with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to ship end-to-end features

• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code using modern frameworks

• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

• Contribute to debugging, optimizing, and improving existing systems

• Learn and grow under the guidance of experienced engineers
  

Requirements

• Graduated at latest 2025 from Computer Engineering or a related departments

• Strong academic background

• Hands-on experience in at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, Java, or Go)

• Basic understanding of APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and server-side logic

• Internship or part-time experience in backend development

• Strong communication skills in Turkish and English

• Bonus: GitHub projects, hackathon participation, or open-source contributions
