CGS is seeking an experienced Auditor to provide support for a large Federal agency initiative.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Assist AUSAs and investigative agencies in conducting complex financial, forensic, statistical, identity-based, and program-integrity analyses in support of federal criminal investigations and prosecutions involving federal fund and program fraud.
  • Analyze and audit program and benefit funding, eligibility determinations, application materials, identity documents, SNAP/Medicaid/Medicare/SSA records, UI claims, tax records, grant expenditures, procurement submissions, and other records relevant to benefit and program fraud, identity theft, and false-statement offenses.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of benefit claims involving SNAP, Medicaid, Medicare, VA programs, SSA benefits, Unemployment Insurance, Federal Student Aid, and other federally funded benefit programs implicated in fraud schemes.
  • Assist with data-driven analyses including pattern recognition, anomaly detection, clustering, and comparative analyses to identify suspicious activity, fraudulent claims, identity misuse, coordinated criminal activity, and large-scale fraud networks.
  • Conduct loss-amount calculations for criminal charging, plea negotiations, restitution, forfeiture, and sentencing purposes, including calculations of actual and intended loss consistent with federal criminal law and sentencing guidelines.
  • Perform asset tracing and financial-flow analysis to identify proceeds of fraud, concealment schemes, shell entities, commingled assets, and financial recoverability for restitution and forfeiture actions.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets—including EBT transaction logs, UI payment histories, tax records, medical billing data, student aid disbursement records, IP logs, or identity-verification datasets—and organize digital and documentary evidence using analytical and visualization tools.
  • Assist with financial and benefit-tracing analyses involving individuals, conspiracies, corporate entities, healthcare providers, contractors, grant recipients, and other targets or subjects of federal criminal investigations.
  • Conduct forensic accounting analyses involving incomplete, altered, encrypted, falsified, voluminous, or electronically stored records; identify forged or manipulated documents; and reconcile conflicting data sources.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, data analytics, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional experience involving accounting, auditing, forensic accounting, financial investigations, statistical analysis, or related analytical work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the requisite background investigation.

 

Preferred:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Certification
