Job Purpose

The Associate Product Manager will support the development, implementation, enhancement, and lifecycle management of digital products and platforms at NCDOE. The role will work closely with Product Managers, technology teams, and business functions to support product planning, requirement gathering, testing, execution, and continuous product improvements.

Key Responsibilities
 

Product Planning & Requirement Management:

• Support Product Managers/HOD in defining product vision, roadmap, and enhancement priorities.

• Collaborate with business functions to understand problem statements, gather requirements, and create epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and user feedback analysis to identify improvement opportunities.

Product Development & Execution:

• Coordinate with development, design, and business teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Participate in Agile/Sprint ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, reviews, and testing activities.

• Assist in prioritization and tracking of product backlog items and feature releases.

• Support implementation and rollout of new modules, enhancements, and product updates.

   

Testing, Quality Assurance & Support:

• Perform Level 1 issue analysis and debugging before escalating issues to the development team.

• Create test cases, coordinate UAT with business users, and validate functionalities before production release.

• Conduct user testing and gather feedback to support continuous product improvements.

• Ensure timely resolution and tracking of product defects and functional issues.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Prepare and maintain functional documentation, process flows, release notes, and product-related records.

• Generate reports, track product metrics, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

• Support creation of product performance and success metrics for newly launched features.
   

Stakeholder Coordination:

• Act as a coordination point between business functions, Product Managers, and technology teams.

• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements, timelines, and deliverables.

• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices relevant to digital products and platforms.

• Good understanding of product management lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and sprint-based execution.

• Solid technical understanding of software development, web technologies, APIs, databases, and system workflows.

• Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts, automation, analytics, and emerging digital technologies.

• Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and AI-enabled product enhancements.

• Ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements and user stories.

• Hands-on approach with strong ownership and execution mindset.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements- Education & work experience

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent preferred.

• 3+ years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, or related roles.

• Experience working in Agile environments with development and cross-functional teams.

• Exposure to AI/ML-enabled products, automation, analytics, or digital transformation initiatives preferred.

• Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, or similar platforms.

• Familiarity with analytics/reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau, or Power BI.

• Experience in EdTech, LMS, ERP, CRM, or digital platforms will be an added advantage.
