Overview:
The Assistant Technical Designer will provide overall support to the Technical Design team by executing and implementing consistent size, fit and construction standards while working cross functionally with Design and Production.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist in managing the product life cycle from sketch through pre-production and production samples
- Work closely with Design to update measurements and specifications for the tech pack
- Review and evaluate samples for spec, pattern shape, and construction
- Communicate daily with overseas offices and vendors to identify and resolve issues with garment construction and production
- Work closely with Design, Sourcing and Production to create cost effective styles in relation to fit and construction
- Prepare for and assist during fit sessions and ensure comments and revisions are being tracked accordingly
- Track and follow up on pending fit and pre-production approval to ensure on-time delivery
- Special projects as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design with a strong knowledge of garment construction and patternmaking
- 1+ years of experience in the fashion industry as an Assistant Technical Designer (children’s wear experience a plus)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills with attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and patternmaking
- At least 1 year of experience in the fashion industry as an Assistant Technical Designer
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, silhouettes, colorways, sewing techniques, fabrication, and trim
- Children's wear experience
