About the Role
You'll own the demand planning cycle end to end. You'll work across categories, channels, and grains to forecast demand, track performance, understand deviations, and ensure that planning insights drive business decisions.
You'll collaborate with Finance, Buying, Design, Replenishment, and Inventory teams to align demand plans with business needs and maintain a clear view of what's selling, what's changing, and what needs attention.
What You'll Own
- Build the plan: Develop seasonal and monthly demand plans by L1, category, channel, and grain. Split targets into units, ASP, and revenue in alignment with Finance and Buying, while accounting for seasonality, launches, promotions, and sale periods.
- Track it: Monitor weekly plan against actuals by L1, category, and channel. Flag deviations early, explain the reasons, and call out fast-, slow-, rising-, and falling-performing grains.
- Review it: Evaluate forecast accuracy and bias by category and channel. Identify over-planned and under-planned grains, understand root causes, and document every change made to the plan.
- Feed the business: Share insights with Design and Buying on what to make more of and what to drop. Provide Replenishment and Inventory teams with planning numbers for reordering, buying, and clearing inventory. Prepare monthly review packs for Planning and business leadership.
- Method and people: Maintain a written forecasting methodology with documented assumptions, review analysts' work, and manage the planning calendar.
What You'll Walk Away With
- End-to-end ownership of the demand planning cycle across categories, channels, and grains.
- The opportunity to influence business decisions through forecasting, performance tracking, and actionable planning insights.
- Cross-functional exposure to Planning, Finance, Buying, Design, Replenishment, Inventory, and business leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 5–8 years in demand or merchandise planning.
- Industry background: Experience in fashion retail, e-commerce, or D2C.
- Planning ownership: Ability to guide analysts and own a planning cycle end to end.
- Analytical skills: Strong Excel skills and the ability to explain forecasts clearly, including the underlying calculations.
- Structured thinking: Ability to start with the business question, analyse the data, and document assumptions.
Who Will Thrive Here?
Someone who can turn business questions into demand plans, identify where forecasts are going off track, and translate numbers into actionable decisions. You'll thrive if you enjoy working across teams, understanding the reasons behind performance, and building a planning process that others can follow and run consistently.
