The Role

Android Developer

Growing software company looking to hire an experienced, self-motivated Android developer to expand our native Android app. You’ll be directly impacting our mobile user experience by implementing new features that extend real-time communication abilities across our platform. Join us to work with today’s top technologies.
This is a remote position. Candidate must be a resident of the United States and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preference will be given to candidates with a similar timezone: Mountain Standard Time.

Job Description:

Own the full mobile application development lifecycle
Develop, test, and deploy user interface, services, and data components for complex mobile application
Code, debug, test, and maintain applications to meet requirements

Technical requirements:

Proficiency with current Android development practices (Java and Kotlin)
Experience implementing Android User Interface Guidelines and Android lifecycle management
Experience using the Google Play Developer Console
Passion for great user experience, code quality, and testing
Experience using REST APIs and implementing third party libraries
Familiarity with Git

The ideal candidate:

Comfortable taking ownership of the Android product and implementing sweeping changes
Experience with production applications and startup timelines
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to communicate effectively with peers (written/verbal)
Understanding of the application and activity lifecycles, threading, and memory management
Experience with agile software development methodologies (e.g., scrum)
Knowledge of common framework libraries, firebase, etc..
