Put automation to work: Build the UiPath and AI automations that free our staff to focus on resident care.
We’ve been recognized by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group as one of America’s Most Admired Workplaces for 2026! As an employee recently said, “I feel I have a lot of support. I feel like part of the team.”
Position Summary:
The Senior Automation Engineer builds automations that take routine execution work off operators and back-office staff. The role is the Company’s senior hands-on UiPath engineer, building RPA, API, and agentic automations and orchestrating them with UiPath Maestro, using code-first tools where they fit better. The role is responsible for each automation end to end, from requirements through production support. The team works AI-first and manages all code in Git. The primary duties of this position involve the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge in a field of science/learning, which require the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.
Education/Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field of science/learning, or advanced knowledge of same through six (6) or more years of demonstrated equivalent engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- A UiPath developer certification (e.g., UiPath Certified Professional Automation Developer) is preferred, or the ability to obtain it within six (6) months of hire.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel.
Experience:
- Six (6) or more years of professional automation or software engineering experience, with a record of shipping production automations that take action in real business systems.
- Three (3) or more years of hands-on production experience with UiPath, including Studio, Orchestrator, Robots, queues, and transactional frameworks (e.g., REFramework), with a record of automations running reliably in production.
- Experience building unattended UiPath automations that run on Windows virtual machines and drive web-based applications through the browser, ideally an EHR or similar clinical or financial system of record.
- Experience with durable orchestration of long-running, multi-step processes and with building automations that recover gracefully from failure. Experience with UiPath Maestro (e.g., Maestro Flow, BPMN, or Case Management) is strongly preferred; comparable experience with code-first orchestration engines (e.g., Temporal) is acceptable.
- Production experience with code-first browser automation using Playwright, and familiarity with AI-driven browser automation frameworks such as Stagehand, for web portals and applications that lack clean APIs.
- Daily working proficiency with Git: branching, pull requests, code review, and resolving merge conflicts, including source control of UiPath projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading and being responsible for automation projects end to end: gathering requirements from business users, documenting the process (e.g., a Process Design Document), building, testing with users, deploying, and supporting the automation in production.
- Experience automating against systems that lack clean APIs, including browser-driven and document-driven workflows (e.g., UiPath document processing), is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a regulated environment (healthcare, finance, or similar) where automations act on sensitive data or systems of record is strongly preferred.
- Healthcare or healthcare back-office experience (insurance/payer requests, HR/payroll, admissions, AR, medical records) is an advantage.
