The company and our mission:

Zartis is a global AI transformation and technology consulting partner where talented engineers and technologists work on cutting edge innovation. We partner with ambitious organizations to design, build, and scale technology solutions that deliver real impact.

Our teams bring deep expertise in AI driven platforms, secure API architectures, and cloud native engineering. You will work on meaningful projects that accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies, from strategy and discovery through to full product delivery, helping turn complex challenges into measurable outcomes.

With engineering hubs across EMEA and LATAM, and long term partnerships in financial services, healthcare and life sciences, and energy and climate, we offer opportunities to work on projects that truly matter. Here, you will not just build technology, you will drive business impact and grow your career alongside industry leaders.

We are looking for an Agentic Product Engineer to work on a project in the marketplace sector.

The project:

Our teammates are talented people that come from a variety of backgrounds. We’re committed to building an inclusive culture based on trust and innovation.

You will be part of a distributed team developing new technologies to solve real business problems. Our client runs online marketplaces, and its Canadian engineering team is running a time-boxed experiment to learn what works in AI-driven product development. A small team works agent-first with tools such as Claude Code and Codex, keeping delivery steady and improving DORA metrics with a fraction of the current team size.
We are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making decisions, being proactive, used to building software from scratch, and with good attention to detail.

What you will do:
  • Take product ideas from concept to production, working hands-on with coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex.

  • Turn business needs into clear requirements, then build and ship them yourself, keeping the path from idea to impact short.

  • Build and maintain backend services in Java (Spring, Dropwizard), mostly microservices, with a monolith still in place.

  • Run services on GCP serverless (Cloud Run), using managed offerings such as Pub/Sub, Firestore and Cloud Armor.

  • Work in an agent-first way, automating patches, upgrades and other routine work to reduce manual toil.

  • Keep feature delivery steady and improve DORA metrics while working with a smaller team.

  • Contribute to the frontend (React, Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL, BFF pattern) and mobile (Flutter/Dart) when a feature needs it.

  • Work in a small team on a time-boxed experiment, helping the client learn what works.

What you will bring:
  • Extensive experience in software development, with strong Java and experience building microservices and APIs.

  • Experience with the Spring or Dropwizard frameworks.

  • Daily, hands-on use of coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex, and the judgment to review and test their output.

  • A product mindset: able to take a business need and deliver it without a long hand-off chain.

  • Experience with cloud-native and serverless delivery on GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Firestore), or equivalent AWS or Azure services.

  • Experience with CI/CD and event-driven design.

  • Experience with MySQL, MongoDB or similar databases.

  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Nice to have:
  • Front-end experience with React, Next.js, Node.js and GraphQL, including the BFF pattern.

  • Mobile experience with Flutter and Dart.

  • Experience with Cloud Armor or other GCP security tooling.

  • Experience shipping LLM-powered features.

  • Experience with marketplace or high-traffic consumer products.

What we offer:

•  100% Remote Work

•  WFH allowance: Monthly payment as financial support for remote working.

•  Career Growth: We have established a career development program accessible for all employees with 360º feedback that will help us to guide you in your career progression.

•  Training: For Tech training at Zartis, you have time allocated during the week at your disposal. You can request from a variety of options, such as online courses (from Pluralsight and Educative.io, for example), English classes, books, conferences, and events.

•  Mentoring Program: You can become a mentor in Zartis or you can receive mentorship, or both.

•  Zartis Wellbeing Hub (Kara Connect): A platform that provides sessions with a range of specialists, including mental health professionals, nutritionists, physiotherapists, fitness coaches, and webinars with such professionals as well.

•  Multicultural working environment: We organize tech events, webinars, parties, and activities to do online team-building games and contests.

  • Experience building microservices and APIs
  • Experience with Spring or Dropwizard
  • Daily hands-on use of coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex
  • Ability to review and test coding-agent output
  • Product mindset and ability to deliver business needs independently
  • Experience with cloud-native and serverless delivery on GCP, or equivalent AWS or Azure services
  • Experience with CI/CD and event-driven design
  • Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, or similar databases
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Frontend experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL, and the BFF pattern
