Position Overview
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our finance and accounting team. This role will assist with daily accounting transactions, maintain accurate financial records, and support reconciliations, audits, and financial close processes. The ideal candidate can manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine bookkeeping tasks, including posting entries and updating the general ledger.
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice entry and payment tracking.
Enter financial data into accounting software accurately and promptly.
Assist with processing expense reports and reconciling financial records.
Support monthly and year-end financial close processes.
Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve billing questions and payment discrepancies.
Organize records and provide documentation to support audits.
Maintain accurate, organized financial files and respond to transaction-related inquiries.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as an Accounting Assistant, Accounting Clerk, or in a similar role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial and sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Experience using accounting software, particularly Sage 100.
Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial terminology.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
