About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Account Reconciliation Officer to join our Finance team at Gatimo Ltd, the parent company of Ruff 'n' Tumble.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records by ensuring timely and thorough reconciliation of all account transactions. Your work will support the organization’s financial transparency and help drive informed decision-making across departments.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccount Reconciliation & Reporting
Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts, POS collections, supplier balances, customer accounts, and general ledger entries.
Investigate discrepancies or irregularities, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor inflows and outflows across multiple payment channels (banks, online, in-store) to ensure alignment with accounting records.
Reconcile intercompany transactions and ensure completeness of financial data.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain clear audit trails and proper documentation for all reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with the finance, sales, procurement, and retail teams to clarify outstanding transactions.
Reporting & Process Improvement
Prepare periodic reconciliation reports for review by finance leadership.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in reconciliation activities.
Support internal and external audits by providing timely, accurate records.
Qualifications & Experience
BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2–3 years of experience in reconciliation, financial reporting, or accounting roles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems like Odoo).
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
Preferred (but not required)
Experience in the retail or manufacturing sector.
ACA/ACCA in progress or completed is a plus.
