POSITION SUMMARY:

The Member Access Control supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This part-time position supports the Membership team by greeting our members as they come in and maintaining appropriate access control.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Greet all persons entering facility.

· Control facility access by members and guests while following department procedures.

· Advise members of access system alerts and direct appropriate staff for further assistance.

· Continuously monitor entrances and access control areas and take action to assure the safety of children under the age of 10 who may be exited or in the facility unaccompanied by an adult.

· Notify Property department staff of deliveries and maintenance issues.

· Contact assigned staff to provide building tours.

· Adhere to work schedule and substitute for others when needed.

· Follow emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards.

· Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in employee handbook and other communications. Obtain and maintain required training(s).

· Accept additional assignments as deemed appropriate, within the scope of the job description.

· Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Obtain and maintain required training(s).

· Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum age of 16 years

· Previous customer service experience preferred.

· Ability to stay focused at desk environment for long periods of time.

· CPR and First Aid training within the first 45 days of employment. Training provided on site.

SALARY:

Minimum starting rate of $11 an hour

Starting rate based on experience

Shift differential provided for certain hours

SCHEDULE:

Part-time

Daytime, evening, and weekend hours available

  • Physical ability and stamina to perform the duties as outlined above, including but not limited to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 30 pounds.
  • Extended periods of time working at PC and/or laptop, often with repetitive keyboarding movement.

Skills Required

  • Minimum age of 16 years
