Orion180 is seeking motivated, curious, and driven students to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program.

As an intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals who are redefining the insurance industry through technology and service excellence. You will contribute to real, meaningful projects, gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced insurtech environment, and develop skills that will accelerate your career — all while being supported by dedicated mentors and a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and integrity.

Departments Hiring

Support the accounting and finance team in day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable processing, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Interns will assist with financial reporting, data entry and validation, audit preparation, and process-improvement initiatives, gaining exposure to the financial backbone of a technology-driven insurance company.

Gain hands-on experience in the claims lifecycle by assisting claims professionals with intake, documentation, and file management. Interns will learn how claims are investigated, evaluated, and resolved; support quality assurance reviews; and help identify opportunities to streamline claims workflows through technology — all with a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience at every step.

Help us deliver unparalleled service to our policyholders. Interns will assist the customer experience team with inquiry resolution support, customer feedback analysis, service-process documentation, and quality monitoring. This role offers direct exposure to customer journey mapping and the tools and technologies that make every Orion180 interaction shine.

Work alongside our data scientists to analyze large datasets, build predictive models, and generate insights that inform pricing, risk assessment, and operational decision-making. Interns may contribute to machine learning prototypes, data visualization dashboards, and statistical analyses, applying Python, SQL, and modern analytics tooling to real business problems in the insurance industry.

Support the sales organization in prospect research, pipeline management, and client engagement preparation. Interns will assist with market and competitor analysis, proposal and presentation development, CRM data hygiene, and distribution partner outreach — building a strong foundation in consultative selling within the insurance and insurtech space.

Contribute to the product team’s mission of building a comprehensive suite of insurance products. Interns will assist with market research, competitive analysis, product requirement documentation, and feature testing, while learning how user feedback, data, and business strategy come together to shape products that redefine the insurance experience.

Dive into the complex and dynamic world of specialty risk. Interns will support the underwriting and specialty risk teams in risk analysis, exposure research, data gathering, and portfolio reviews. This is an opportunity to develop specialized knowledge of niche insurance markets and learn how innovative underwriting approaches set Orion180 apart.

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
• Strong academic performance in a field of study relevant to the department of interest (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with data analysis tools (Python, SQL, Power BI) is a plus for analytically focused roles
• A proactive, curious mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

The office environment is fast-paced and collaborative.  An employee must be willing and able to work their regularly assigned work schedule onsite, and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company or departmental needs, project requirements, or customer demands. 

While performing general duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening, comprehending, and reading; being able to lift light objects (<25 lbs); and using standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.  In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist, or squat down to open/close cabinets and reach for files or other standard office-type objects.
